If you can write one 300 word article per day, you can put the power of Article Marketing to work for your business. It's a great way to...

  • Get targeted visitors to your site direct from the article itself
  • Push your site up Google's rankings for a specific keyword phrase

To get targeted visitors to your site, you'll need to write articles about topics likely to be of interest to the people who buy your product or service. You can then submit each article to a site that accepts self-published articles. Here are some examples...

There are hundreds (perhaps thousands) of article sites. Each individual article must be wholly unique, and submitted to only one article site.

Each article should contain one contextual link back to your web site. Over time, you'll build a large number of contextual links for a single keyword phrase.

This will push your site up Google's ranking to the point where it will appear on page one, having built 'pagerank' and 'trust' with Google. Once you have that, you can start using article marketing to link to earlier articles. This boosts their pagerank and trust, which flows back to your site. It's a virtuous circle.

Article marketing pays off in the short term, because your articles will send you traffic. And it pays off in the long term (as long as you learn about contextual linking), because you get an increasing volume of traffic from search engines.

The first step is to pick the keyword phrase you're going to focus on. The chosen keyword phrase becomes the text in your contextual link. You want this keyword phrase to be something people actually enter into search engines to find sites like your Blog, so use Google's keyword analysis tool to find the best word for you.
