Two lead generation ideas to try on your site

As long as you can change the text on your site, both of these lead generation ideas can easily be added to your site. Neither requires any programming, or a back-end database.

The ideas are...

  • Explain how you solved a specific problem for one of your clients
  • Follow up with a free analysis

If these ideas seem mundane in comparison to some of the more exotic marketing ideas, bare with me. I can assure you this approach works wonders in online lead generation. As with many things in life, success or failure comes down to execution.

Explain how you solved a specific problem for one of your clients

Most of the people likely to do business with you, do so because your product or service solves a problem they have. This same problem will apply across a large percentage of your target market. By explaining how you solved such a problem for a specific client, you achieve 2 things in the mind of potential future clients...

  1. You demonstrate an understanding of the problem
  2. You show that others already trust you to solve the problem

In both cases, what you gain is credibility in the mind of your target marketing. The more credible you are as a source of the solution, the more likely it is that a person will want to talk to you. The question is, how do you stimulate a response at this point?

Follow up with a free analysis

Plenty of people offer a 'free reports', and the idea is hardly new. There are so many free offers available on the web, they're essentially useless as a means to generate leads.

Your offer of a free analysis won't work if it comes out of the blue. It has to be made after you've established your credibility with the prospect. Your offer to help then comes from a credible source, making it far more valuable than one coming from an unknown entity on the web.

Having demonstrated your ability to solve a specific problem, your next task is to convert interest into action. Not just any action, but one that achieves the following...

  • Increase trust
  • Start the relationship
  • Highlight all areas where you can be of service

Your offer to analyse their specific situation, and report on what you find, will fall on receptive ears. It's highly likely you'll uncover several needs you can help with. You may also uncover needs that you can't help with, but know someone who can (i.e. networking).

It's so much easier getting new clients this way, and fun too. If you have a passion for what you do, you'll get to do more of it. And each time you do, you'll find ways to improve the process.
